Most northerly point and bikes. Day two -Isle of Man

I should have mentioned in my earlier blog that we are actually on the Isle of Man. We did also clearly see the mountains of Mourne, Ireland, from Port Erin last night.

Our second full day here so we decided to head up to the most northerly point of the island, the Point of Ayre. The beach was full of pebbles, perfect for skimming stones. But unfortunately, apart from a light house, a couple of fog horns and the nature conservation area, not a lot else to see. Across the sea, in the distance, we could see Scotland - looking at the map we think it was Stranraer and area.

We drove down the coast to Ramaey. An okay town with a lovely beach. We stopped there for a spot of lunch.

Finally, we landed in Douglas and went to the swimming pool. Fantastic flumes, waterfalls and floats meant we all enjoyed ourselves.

Once back at the barn we showered and headed back out to watch the first set of practice races for the Manx Grand Prix. What an experience, but the bikes don't half hurtle along at amazing speeds so it proves tricky to catch on camera. I did suss out the burst shooting mode in the end to capture some of the action.

A Chinese takeaway and more wine and we're ready for bed. Fab day. Night all xx
