A very different day in school

The weekend was strange. We stayed home as much as we could even though it was beautiful, spring weather. Some people didn't though - Whitby was apparently packed. Some people don't listen and heed government advice.

Monday morning loomed and I went in to school with my colleagues, as did other teachers in England. We were expecting around 70 children who, as per government guidance, were either children of key workers or vulnerable pupils. Today, only 17 arrived. New rotas devised and now staff are just in 1 or 2 days a week.

We are doing everything we can to safeguard ourselves. Strange times and scary.
