Sad times

What a day! It's been strange and emotional day in Sunnyside today. Really feel for Year 6. No build up to SATs, transition week, residential trip, leavers assembly or prom 😢. They won't be signing shirts or doing fun activities in the last term. It was the same for Year 11 and 13 yesterday at King's. An uncertain time for our young people. Be gentle with them. They worry how they will get their grades, college or 6th form places, university or apprenticeship places too. Tears have been shed. I now have Alice home from uni and she's probably not going back this year. Her first year of uni life abruptly ended. Katie's in her final year at uni and probably won't have a graduation. Something I would have loved to be part of. Who would think a microscopic piece of bacteria could cause so much devistaton? Now I'm part of the key worker list, keeping the school open and supporting other key workers by minding their children while they keep the County going. Look after each other, be kind, bring back the Dunkirk spirit. Stay safe people and wash your hands! Thanks to everyone I work wirh.i love them all and they are all amazing.
