Power cuts, Penguins and Peel

Yesterday, our first morning here, and we had a power cut first thing but it came back on. The sun came out and we headed out. No races on today so we decided to head over to the Wildlife Park. It was fantastic - most of the animals roam free through carefully cordoned off enclosures so we truly did see them up close. Katie even fed the penguins.

In the afternoon we drove down the coast to Peel and explored the castle. Our National Trust membership gets us in for free so that was a bonus. It was beautiful.

Finally, we drove onto Port Erin and saw Brian's Uncle Trevor. It was the first time he had ever met the girls. We also popped round to see his Auntie Maureen and Brian. They had been really helpful with planning our stay as they had not only found us this beautiful accommodation, but sent us maps and info so we could decide what we wanted to see.

We finished the day off with a meal in one of the local pubs and a walk along the beach to watch the sun go down. Beautiful.
